Bhavanites turn Santas this Christmas. Donate to the needy as part of project ‘Main bhi Santa’

The students of Bhavan Vidyalaya Chandigarh initiated a donation drive for the needy, to celebrate Christmas this year. Called Main bhi Santa, this project was undertaken by the Interact Club, Human Excellence Club and Eco Club of the school.  The project involved collection of old woolens that would provide warmth to the needy in the harsh winters. Students were also motivated to donate socks and cotton masks which too have become a necessity post the current pandemic.

A 4 member team from the school, including 3 teachers and the President of the Interact Club visited Samarpan Foundation to donate the collected items. The foundation houses around 200 children to whom the school donated clothes, new socks and masks. The programme was ably coordinated and efficiently managed by the staff members of the Samarpan Foundation. The smiles on the faces of those children left a very bright imprint on students’ minds on whom it would have a lasting impact. It was an equally merry Christmas for the school workers, security guards and gardeners as even they too were given masks to keep safe.

Both the donors and the receivers had a MERRY CHRISTMAS. Senior Principal Mrs. Vineeta Arora appreciated the efforts made by the student members of the club and asked them to keep us the spirit of Christmas goodness and empathy.
