Earth Day Celebrations
Earth day was celebrated from April to August through a variety of activities such as poster making, Bulletin Board competitions, face painting and tattoo making based on relevant issues such as water conservation, save the planet etc.
For a greener world
In a bid to add to the greenery the Eco Club brought potted plants worth 1500 and placed them within the school premised. They also planted about 50 herbal and medicinal plants which were gifted to the clubby the Environment and Forest Department of Chandigarh Administration.
Thanks giving Day Celebrations
In February Members of the Eco Club and Library Club joined hands to celebrate “Thanks Giving week”. The members made smiley badges carrying thank you messages. Then 12 members, accompanied by 2 teachers visited the sector 19 post office, where they expressed their gratitude for services rendered by pinning these badges on all the staff members of the post office.
TERI Organises Search
The School hosted the second cluster workshop of Project “SEARCH” in October 2011. TERI the Energy and Resource Institute in Collaboration with Tetra Pack, Initiated Phase III of Project SEARCH on issues related to waste Management. This workshop had as many as 150 members from 30 schools participating from the tricity. Other activities during the year included an interactive session with the students and teachers of Yishun Secondary School Singapore. This session included presentation on the club’s activities, a documentary on waste Management followed by poster making and tattoo making activities. Also TERI in collaboration with Yuvasatta, a Chandigarh based NGO, organized a field trip around the city to expose school children to the journey of waste from our homes to a land fill.
